I hope that everyone had a happy holiday season. The youth stayed busy in December with our Youth Production, Lock in (late November), and trip to Hollywild. We will continue to stay busy this month. The LCY will be starting the new year off right by volunteering our time to help a local organization in our community. Details are not final at this time. Parents will receive information soon. We would love for you to join us. Please let me know if you are interested.

Thank you to everyone who brought desserts to the youth Production dessert reception. Delicious!!

We want to spread the good news that St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is awesome. We will be selling

St. Paul’s LCMC t-shirts to raise money for our youth. If you are interested in ordering a shirt, please let a youth member know. We will also have our Winter Wonderland tickets on sale. Please consider attending this event.

Have a wonderful and peaceful New Year.

Love, Tammy Hodges (490 7040)

Youth Update

What a wonderful year it has been! I feel that the youth here at St. Paul's have accomplished so much. I look forward to the Christmas season that is drawing near. Our annual Christmas Production will take place on December 23. Following the production, there will be a dessert reception. This will be a time to congratulate our youth for a job well done and to fellowship with other church members during the holiday season. It is also a great way to share a new holiday dessert with everyone. If you are willing to make a dessert or two, please let me know as soon as possible. We will begin practicing in November. Parents, please make sure that your child is present on Wednesday nights to practice. If anyone can come and help with costumes and practice that would be wonderful!!

We will go caroling December 20. Please plan to meet at the church at 3:00. Following our caroling trip, we will go visit Hollywild's Christmas display. I will be sending information home to parents soon. This will be open to LCC and LCY. I will need some assistance with transportation for this event. PLEASE consider helping! If you want to make sure that we visit you on our caroling trip, please call me.

St. Paul's will have a live nativity scene this year. The date will be 19 December in the Evening. The specific details have not been finalized, but what an awesome idea. The church is facing the busiest street in Gaffney! I'm excited. If we have any youth that would like to participate in the live nativity scene, please let me know. Acolyte training will take place soon. Please sign your child up to serve in 2010!

Have a wonderful holiday!! Your friend in Christ,

I hope everyone’s summer is going well. We recently took a trip to Paramount Carowinds with the LCC and the LCY. It was a wonderful time for us to fellowship together with our friends and fellow Christians. July will be dedicated to serving our community. The LCY will participate in the Jerusalem Project July 20-24. Students must have their money in by July 4 to participate. The cost for participating is $40.00 and it will be well worth it. See Tammy for more details.

I am still trying to plan something for the LCC in July. I would like to visit the new water park in Duncan. I will get with parents soon to plan a date. Don’t forget to bring your loose coins on the first Sunday of each month for the ‘Noisy Offering’. Last month we collected $49.00. That is awesome. Thank you to everyone that brought change. A special thank you to Pam and Linda for helping to supervise children for our first event. Children’s church is going well. If you’ve been busy and unable to attend, please plan to do so. It is a great chance for me to connect with the children of the church.
