Thanks to Bill Pederson for creating our BLOG! LCC is going to be sharing the YOUTH BLOG with LCY. Tammy last written about VBS, well I would like to elaborate.....VBS was GREAT!!!! We all had a really good time on our HIGH SEAS ADVENTURE! I am going to attempt to post some photos. The excitement of VBS did not end our summer time activities. Since VBS the LCC has also enjoyed a PICNIC IN THE PARK with all of our families. We have gone to a couple of matinees and we have enjoyed being together on Tuesday nights for fun and fellowship! Pastor Bucky has done a great job of leading us in our Bible Studies...we started with GENESIS and will continue through the Bible. LCC has lots to look forward to. First, we are meeting August 10th at the MICHAEL GAFFNEY CABIN for a Bible Study followed by a tour of the GAFFNEY CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT. The highlight of the summer and as a way to kick-off the 2010/2011 school year is a CAMPING at KINGS MOUNTAIN. This is to take place August 13th....if you plan to attend you need to let me know by August 8th. There is additional information in the LCC NEWSLETTER that went out to everyone earlier this week. If you did not get it, please let me know. It would have come via email. The plan is to have a LCC NEWSLETTER each month. Well, guys! I am going to attempt to post some photos, wish me luck!!!!! Have a great day! Miss Dorie

Great news...our first t-shirt order has arrived. If you ordered one of them, please see Tammy. If you did not order a shirt, you still can. The design is awesome! Remember, this is a fundraiser for the youth's summer mission trip. I placed another order yesterday which will be ready in two weeks. So it is definitely not too late. Purchase your shirt today!

We will be having Vacation Bible School for preschool-grade 5. Dates are June 13-17. Please let me know if you plan to attend. We will serve dinner each night!! Bring a friend.

Fundraisers

We are busy planning our fundraisers for the next few months. Our plan is to go whitewater rafting this summer in the mountains and stay in a cabin. Hopefully, we can take some time to help out at a local food pantry or shelter while we are there. Here are our fundraising plans/ideas:

St. Paul's Lutheran T-shirts are for sale NOW:
$10.00 for youth-adult sizes
$12.00 for x-large sizes

We have an order coming in soon, but will order more if we need to!

Krispy Kreme doughnut sales: Planned for MAY
Students will pre-sale as many as possible and then sale some at local stores. The cost for each box will be $5.00. I hope we sell a bunch.

Car Wash/Yard Sale/Bake Sale: Possible, but not definite
This sounds like a good idea, but past records do not show that these events are profitable. Still weighing our options.

Luau (is this spelled right?): June fundraiser
We would love to host another dinner similar to our Winter Wonderland. Except the theme would be a luau, of course. Haven't worked out the details but everyone likes to eat!!

If anyone has any great ideas, please share them with us.

Paintball trip

We recently took a trip to Red Fox Games in Woodruff, SC. They have multiple fields and challenges for the paintball enthusiast. We were invited by West End Baptist Church (thanks Justin). The two youth groups really learned a lot about each other and had a great time playing together. I think my guys (my girls stood me up) were surprised to find out that I was going to play paintball with them. What were they thinking? That I was going to sit under a tree all day and do Suduko? Come on. I won't lie, that sounds good to me too. But anyway, I survived with only one HUGE bruise on my arm. It was nasty. Can't wait to go back this Fall.
